Well I just swatched with the next size up of swing needles to start on my Fleece Artist mystery project… my gauge swatch revealed I am one stitch off, so I’m hoping going up a size will correct that. I have it pinned to dry so keep your fingers crossed. Time is running short for this one!

I’ve also cast on for yet another baby hat, also from Itty Bitty Hats. Unfortunately, I wasn’t paying close enough attention and didn’t notice until I’d knit about an inch of it that I twisted the stitches when I joined the round. Grr. How aggravating. So I ripped it back and am starting over. This one is a roll brim with bunny ears (eee!) knit from RYC Cashsoft DK in Mist- a dove grey colour, muted and unisex. I haven’t used Cashsoft before, but it’s HEAVENLY. I need something made from this yarn, it’s beyond soft. It does seem like it splits easily… I haven’t had any problems yet but we’ll see as I go along.

I just picked up the latest Vogue Knitting (Winter 2007) today. There are a bunch of things I’d like to make (and won’t for ages, but I still love to read all the articles and dream of the beautiful knits that could someday be mine.) So while I was perusing, I came across an interesting tidbit in the “what’s new” section. Koigu has teamed up with Classic Elite yarns to make a (take a deep breath) CASHMERE Koigu! Wow. Apparently it’s only available at String Yarns, and it sure looks heavenly, but at $50 US/skein it’s doubtful that I’ll be making its aquaintance.

I’m working on carding some fibers into batts to list. I have a bunch of dyed fibers available right now that I’m going to card so it’s ready to spin, and relist. Spinning-wise I have a few new skeins on the go, but things are moving along slowly since we’re kicking into highgear on the baby preparations around the homestead. I will definitely have some new yarns available over the next couple of weeks- and there’s still a few available on the yarns page in the meantime. Must get knitting!
