Tuesday, February 06, 2007 We have galleries!
It has taken a while but finally I’ve gotten some photos up in the galleries for the site. Here’s what you can expect to find: - Past Yarns ~ some past yarns I’ve made that have been sold, gifted, or squirreled away in my stash
- Dyed Fibers ~ fibers I’ve dyed, some roving and some unprocessed wool, using both chemical and foodsafe dyes
- Start to Finish ~ some examples of yarns I’ve made from the dyeing to the finished spinning… I enjoy seeing the various steps
- Works in Progress ~ Some of the started knitting and spinning I’m currently working on, we’ll see how this one progresses as my time runneth short at the moment
- Finished Objects ~ some little knits I’ve made… I really need to take more pics of my FOs!
- Customer Creations ~ this one’s currently empty… if you have made something with your weetsie woolens yarn or fiber please email me a pic! I’d love to have a customer gallery up and running soon
In other news, I’ve cast on for yet another Itty Bitty Hat (not that I’ve done anymore with the one currently on my needles, but I was too excited not to) so I have two on the go:
Both pics are from Itty Bitty Hats... the Upside Down Daisy hat (L) was what I was already working on in Rowan Handknit Cotton DK (Lupin – 205): And now I’ve also launched into the Bunny Ears hat in Rowan Classic (RYC) Cashsoft DK (Mist – 505):
The Cashsoft is amazing… I’m definitely going to make something bigger out of that one one day.
In the spinning area, I’ve started in on a new yarn, as of yet unnamed, from a mohair/cotswold roving: It’s really soft and bulky weight. I will definitely have two skeins of this one, maybe even three. I’m also carding these two fibers together into batts to spin up: It’s a super soft yearling wool on the left, and a dark purple young adult mohair on the right. I think this one will be yummy! Both fibers are super soft. They are both from Laurie at Frene Creek Farm I am so happy to get the site ship shape before the baby comes. I only have a couple of weeks left (although it could be any day now) so I’m not sure how much more fun wool-playing I’ll be able to get done in the meantime, but I’m going to try!

My most recent pics can be found on Flickr. I will be slowly migrating everything over there.
