Tuesday, June 12, 2007 I thought I’d post a few pics of some of my more recent stash additions, because they are so lovely!
First up, some Fleece Artist Sea Wool, 70% Merino, 30% Seacell:
Sea Wool ~ Madder
Sea Wool ~ OriginThe Sea Wool is really soft and shiny. It’s a similar yarn to the Fleece Artist Merino, but with much more of a sheen to it. I love how shiny it is.
Next, another new yarn from the Fleece Artist, called Suri Blue, 50% Suri Alpaca, 50% Blue Faced Leicester wool:
Suri Blue ~ PeridotThis one is sooo soft, and has a great bit of a halo. It’s a laceweight/superfine fingering weight. And I will definitely want more of it, I’ll tell you that much!
This is a second new Fleece Artist yarn… Cashlana! This one is 90% Merino wool and 10% Cashmere:
Cashlana ~ StoneThe Cashlana is going to become a Queen of the Waves shawl, at some point. I think the colourway will be fabulous in this pattern. The yarn is incredibly soft and squishy. Much moreso than the plain merino, and that’s saying a LOT.
I also ordered a new Goldielocks Shawl kit, since I got a new shawl pattern from my new friend Rhonda (thank you Rhonda!) for a fringed version of the shawl… so of course I needed to pick up a new kit. I loved the subtle colour varigation on this yarn. I’m not sure the picture does it justice, but it’s really airy and pretty:
Goldielocks Shawl Kit ~ Pixie And one last kit I have had a while but not posted is a Handmaiden Silk Vee Kit, it’s all Silk Spun, the same yarn as the Shoulder Wraps I have made in the past. 100% silk and fabulous to knit with. I’m holding off on starting this one until I’m done nursing… somehow I think the fit will be different. Ha ha.
Silk Vee Kit~ StoneI also got a surprise in the mail on Friday… my June fiber from the Hello Yarn club! It is so smooshy soft, like buttah! I can’t wait to spin this one. Adrian has the most amazing colours. Merino isn’t usually my favorite to spin because I find the shorter fibers to be much more work… but the smooshyness will make up for it, I’m sure.
June Hello Yarn Fiber Club fiber ~ Thistle Merino Wool So many pretty things! Now I just need some time to knit and spin them all. Hee.
I have been doing a teeny bit of teeny knitting for new babies and upcoming new babies… can’t post those yet, but soon! I had hoped to get started on that Sea Baby set I got for little O while we were visiting my parents, but it was a busy visit with lots of socializing, so no knitting time to be had. This week it begins! I love that Sea Baby, and can’t wait to see it knit up.
