Tuesday, August 21, 2007 Lately I’ve been struggling to keep up with things in my everyday life, let alone doing much playing with wool. sigh. Baby O is still waking up a couple of times a night to eat, which is leaving me bushed, and not attentive enough for much knitting in the evening after she and the little man go to bed. I have done a little more on the Noro scarf:
And I also cast on for this bonnet, which I absolutely love, in Rowan Wool Cotton:
The colour is Moonstone, it’s a pale, dove gray. I’m going to knit matching bootees from the same book.
In not so happy baby knitting news, I’ve decided to frog what I have done on Sea Baby. I knit about 5 inches on the back, when I realized that it’s just not going to fit Baby O. She’s too big already. (Waah.) I wish I would have found the Sea Baby kit earlier, but I have been in denial that it might still be big enough. The pattern only comes in 3-6 month size, and she’s been in that size for what seems like forever.
So, I guess I’ll just have to move on to either the cape or the Tulip sweater. Hmm… decisions, decisions.
I did manage to get in another month’s installment of Spunky Club Fiber:
This is from June’s BFL – called Tulip. I decided to ply it with a soft, commercial yarn with a bit of sparkle, Rowan Kidsilk Night. It came out awesome! I am so in love with this yarn, it’s crazy. It’s definitely one of my favorite yarns I’ve spun, which fills me with glee because I have special plans for it.
Here it is closeup:
And hanging up on the gate in all of it’s poofy, smooshy, cushy glory:
I have some Hello Yarn Club spinning done as well but not set yet, so no pics to show… next time!
I’m still slowly working on a couple of other little mystery gift projects I can’t yet share. But also at a snail’s pace.
Despite having no real knitting progress to speak of, I still want to cast on for more things! How illogical is that? I want to break out one of my (many) skeins of Sea Silk to start a Montego Bay Scarf from the summer Interweave Knits, and I just ordered some Classic Elite Skye Tweed in a dark brown to make Jared Flood’s Cobblestone Sweater from the Fall issue for the husband. Who knows when this will actually transpire, but I got the yarn for a great price, and it was the colour I was hoping to find, so I couldn’t walk away. I’m hoping that the fact that it’s for him will detract from the fact that I bought more yarn. Hee.
